Student Nurses Hospital Duty

As student nurses, it is really tiring to be on a hospital duty. You have to monitor patients assigned to you every now and then and if you are not doing something, your clinical instructor will do some lectures. "Every minute should not be wasted."

But on the other side of it, ok pa din naman. You will be able to learn so many things, especially, when you clinical instructor is very active and great. At maswerte kami for having one. Even if there is no time for a rest, it is worth the tuition fee.

NCP every now and then, drug studies, case studies and hospital procedures, with matching return demonstration pa. Round the clock medications, regulation of IV fluids, Vital signs every hour, draining of urine bags, health teachings, building of rapport, emergencies and so much more... we are tired of it but we want it... so give us some more!!! hahaha...

Another special thing about this duty is the chance for us to see an anencephaly case. It's sad that after a few hours of the little angel in this world, he needs to go because of his condition. I don't really know why his mother let him live until his 9th month when the physician was able to detect that defect on her 2nd trimester and knowing the fact that after some hours prior to delivery, the baby will die. Whatever the reason is, I'm certain for one thing, his mother really loves him, and she wants to protect her baby up to her last resort.

Sari- saring scenario, sari - saring buhay, iisang lugar, ang ospital. There are some na nagagalit dahil walang pambayad, some were so lucky to be able to afford the most extravagant room. This is also a lesson we learn from hospitals, that we should treat every patient equally and indiscriminately. A lesson not paid with our tuition...
